Their diverse backgrounds and expertise provide technical guidance to the company in both scientific and business related matters. Alphabetical Order Sherri Bale, PhD, FACMG is a Board-Certified Ph.D.-Medical Geneticist, and a Founding Member of the American College of Medical Genetics. She has more than 25 years of experience in clinical, cytogenetic, and molecular genetics research and has authored over 100 papers, book chapters, and books in the field. Sherri started the highly regarded company, GeneDx, after 16 years at the National Institutes of Health, the last nine as head of the Genetic Studies Section in the Laboratory of Skin Biology at the NIAMS. She is known both nationally and internationally for her work in identifying the basis of hereditary diseases, especially those affecting the skin. Michael Dailey is Executive Director of the Frederick County Innovative Technology Center. Mr. Dailey has started several small businesses including his most recent one; Frederick Wireless now Eduro Technologies. With over 20 years experience in sales and marketing in high-tech companies, Mr. Dailey has a broad range of experience. His most recent position was Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Eduro Technologies. Prior to Eduro, Mr. Dailey directed the marketing and development of various high-tech products for several companies involved in the sale of software and technology to Fortune 1,000 companies. Mr. Dailey has worked for some of the world’s leading technology companies including Oracle, NCR Corporation, Wells Fargo Bank and Microlog Corporation. Stephen Granite is Director of Database and Software Development at The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine Center for Cardiovascular Bioinformatics and Modeling. He received a BS in Biology, with a dual major in Finance, from Harvey Mudd College and an MS in Computer Science with a focus in Bioinformatics from The Johns Hopkins University. Prior to his current position, Stephen served as a Staff Bioinformatician at the National Institutes of Health Intramural Sequencing Center, providing and developing Bioinformatics tools utilized in the Comparative Vertebrate Sequencing Initiative and the Mammalian Gene Collection Program. Yuriy Shevchenko, PhD is Director of Research and Development at GeneDx, Inc. He received his Master's degree in Physics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry (Russian Academy of Sciences). His doctoral research was conducted in the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, as a part of the Human Genome Project. After a year in the laboratory of Dr. Charles Cantor at Boston University, he became a visiting fellow at the NIH, where he spent two years developing methods for DNA-based diagnostics of hereditary skin disorders in Dr. Sherri Bale's laboratory and another two years at the NIH Intramural Sequencing Center under Dr. Eric Green. His training and experience make him an expert in a wide variety of molecular biology applications and genomics operations. |
